Favorite Rag Quilt

Janet Richey, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

I donated this quilt to some unknown person and I now realize it's one of my favorite rag quilts. Made with the small rag die.  Thanks for letting me share!

Enjoy your walk down Aisle #4.

Sawtooth Stars

Debbie Smith, Edmond, Oklahoma

I made this for a baby girl at our church. The momma told me they love stars so….the pattern is Sawtooth Stars, the quilting is stars and some of the fabrics are stars, including the backing.

Game Play

Heather Kerkman, Franksville, Wisconsin

Here is my Super Mario Quilt. 4000+ 1.5” squares cut with my 1.5” strip cutter.

This will be traveling with me to Scotland on Monday to be gifted to my nephew Stuart. I named it ‘Game Play’.

MYSTERY QUILT

Becky Purvis, Farmington, New York

Created in the Mystery Build-a-Quilt Block of the month class, this quilt was quilted using the Quilt as You Go method on my domestic machine.

Hunter's Star

Lori Morgan, Richland, Washington

After years of giving my quilts away, I decided it was time to make one for me. I feel in love with the white and black fabric.

After calling stores in 5 states I located the right fabric in a quilt shop in Wasilla, Alaska.

Butterfly Quilt

Dorie Chesser, Fredericksburg, Virginia

While visiting a quilt shop, I saw this beautiful butterfly quilt and immediately wanted to make it.  When I found out that it was made using an Accuquilt, I immediately knew I needed to become part of the Accuquilt Family!  Covid happened, so I ordered my new Accuquilt, the butterfly and vines dies and various batik fabrics!  Making this quilt helped me throug the COVID lockdown!

Danell Lee, Cabool, Missouri

Here are a couple more completed UFO's. The Bento Tablerunner was an Applique project. It was supposed to become a quilt, and I wasn't into it. After being a UFO for 6 years, it is now a completed Tablerunner in my Nephew's home.

The chandelier quilt sat for 16 months.  I completed the blocks in 2022 and didn't care for the charm pack I chose. It began as a sew along with two girlfriends. After a retreat in July, my friend Barb insisted I complete it. She cheered me on as I completed one row at a time, in between what we were working on during our retreat.  I just pulled it off of the longarm on Tuesday and began the binding. This was cut using 2.5" and 5" squares. The last one: a UFO I completed this year that was 8 years old! It is finally gifted to my sister-in-law. She's enjoying it. It was cut using my 2.5" squares.

Bento Tablerunner

Ribbons and Bows

Debbie Smith, Edmond, Oklahoma

I made this one for our preachers grand baby. I was told the momma loves sage green. So I thought bows would be so cute since all these mommas put these huge bows on their baby girls. Which I do think is adorable. I made my pattern from a picture I had seen that someone else had made. I tried to use AccuQuilt but the dies I had just wouldn’t work for it.

Magnificent Elk

Tereasa Lennemann, Borg, South Dakota

My brother-in-law wanted an elk quilt, he picked out the panel and let me do the rest, I used my accuquilt 2 1/2 inch strip die to cut the log cabin strips for blocks and binding. He gave me specific dimensions for his bed. By far the largest project I’ve tackled yet, accuquilt made it so much easier!

Mystery Block of the Month

Tracy Schultz, Grand Island, New York

Both quilts were made using blocks from Mystery Block of the Month classes. Everything including sashing and binding was cut with my Go Big Accuquilt cutter.

I learned so much while making these quilts and still have many more blocks made to put together for future quilts. The sampler quilt measures 54x80. It's hanging on my living room wall. The other quilt is 54 square and is cozy on my couch.

To Have and To Hold

Elizabeth Heritage,  Lake George, Colorado

I was blessed to do this project with my mom, Gail Glass, for our son’s wedding held on 8/23/24. Our son is her first grandchild. Mom is 91 years old and still sharp as a tack.

We started it in August 2023 and I made several trips from Colorado to Houston for this precious time with her. There were over 3,600 pieces and it finished at 116”x116” to provide for a nearly 20” drop and a pillow tuck on their king size bed.  It was quilted by Nikki Rainey of Scrappy Squirrel Quilting.

MEMORY QUILT with Vintage Handkerchiefs

Sharon Sizemore, Montgomery, West Virginia

This is a quilt I did using the angel die and vintage handkerchiefs. It is a memorandum quilt in remembrance of my mother and mother-in-law in heaven. The middle block is the focal point with the words "A piece of my heart had wings". Thanks for looking.

Treasure Island Quilt

Linda Wheeling, The Villages, Florida

I decided that I wanted put my Mystery Blocks into a non-traditional sampler quilt. I chose a pattern made by QuiltFox Design, called Treasure Island, and used nine blocks on the front and put five blocks on the backing. I finished it on my long arm with a design called Florence.

Using Mystery Block of the Month blocks in a modern design.

FIRST QUILT EVER

I've been wanting to do a lap quilt for my sister for a while now. I actually was hoping to send in another quilt that was the basis for this one but couldn't get it done in time. I got the top done but I still have a lot to learn as I want to do some ruler work on it. So this is my 1st official quilt! I'm really chuffed at how it turned out. I used my Accuquilt for the strips. Appliqued for the 1st time. Added embroidery and I love working with decorative stitches, so got to use those and it worked great on the self binding. I hope you like it as much as I do! Front and back and inspiration piece. Thank you Eileen for doing this and pushing me to actually do it instead of just thinking about it.

Diamond Star Quilt

Rosemarie Hanlon, Plymouth, Massachusetts

I used the 10 inch Qube and Dimples fabric designed by Gail Kessler owner of Ladyfingers Sewing and Quiilting. I made this quilt for a male nurse who worked closely with my son’s cardiologist while my son was hospitalized and in rehabilitation. My son was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure.

Home in Idaho

Our local quilt store had Moda custom print fabric with the state of Idaho image. I had to buy the kit.

Gingerbread Boys and Girls

Kris Wood, Wilder, Idaho

This is an Accuquilt design that I made this year.

Mini Exploding Hearts

Alberta Farnsworth, Tucson, Arizona

I used an older Pfaff to piece and quilt this because my newer Embroidery/sewing machine is in the shop. The piecing went well but the free motion quilting did not! A combination of machine and user error I am sure!

Linda Ahn and Stephanie Zoppi, Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania

Trail Mix - Pattern by Maebeth Oxenrider.  Made using Accuquilt dies by Linda Ahn and Stephanie Zoppi (daughter).

Trail Mix Pattern

We belonged to a quilting bee - The Nine Patches.  Whenever we traveled, we would bring back fabric that either represented where we had been or something that we really liked.  Each of us would get a 10" square.

Stephanie found this pattern in American Patchwork and Quilting and we thought it would be appropriate for our travel fabric.  There were several variations of 4 patch and 9 patch.  Only 1 of them had to be rotary cut.  Many memories of special vacations.

International Harvester Tractor Quilt

Michaelene Koelsch, Sea Level, North Carolina

I made this quilt with my Accuquilt 9" Qube

My co worker's father collected Harvester tractors and she asked for a baby blanket for her grandson. I am Michaelene Koelsch originally from Florence,  Wisconsin, but now live in Sea Level, NC.

Unicorn Delight

Michaelene Koelsch, Sea Level, North Carolina

I made this quilt for my boyfriend's granddaughter.  He bought the unicorn panels. The stars were made with the 8" qube.

Sampler Quilt

Made with 8" cube & companion dies. 42 different scrappy blocks.

Melanie Scheid-Jordan, Falon, Nevada

I am attaching a photo of the quilt I finished, only the 2nd quilt I have ever done.  While I did not own an Accuquilt when I did all of this cutting, I have since looked at it and said to myself, “I could have easily used the Accuquilt for most of it”!  I was still working when I pieced this; it took me 3 years.  I do have a long arm, but just learning free motion and didn’t want to mess the quilt up, so I had a local woman do the quilting.  I entered it last weekend at our Cantaloupe Festival/County Fair. Where I live, Fallon, Nevada, our cantaloupe are well known all over the country, especially the Heart’s of Gold variety.  I wouldn’t let my quilt be judged, as there are too many mistakes, but I was thrilled to learn when I picked it up, it had won the People’s Choice Award!  Mistakes and all, I couldn’t be more proud, I learned so much while working on it.

I will be starting the Civil War sampler in the next week or two and will be using my accuquilt and cube.  I am anticipating a lot less missed points with the accuracy of Accuquilt!  I am so happy I finally took the leap along with Eileen’s beginner class.  The pattern conversion is next on my list.

Wedding Quilt

Denise Werner, Hollywood. Maryland

Basic start point: Exploding Heart pattern. Accuquilt cutting except the bottom two corners which are fan blades. I measured and cut to fit that area. This was quilted on my HQ Amara 20 with Prostitcher. Quilting design by Christy Dillon.

Project was started August 2023 and finished April 2024. Gifted May 4, 2024 as a wedding gift. Rounded corners: 95.5" x 95.5".

Snowy Days

Jeannie Horton, Goldsboro, North Carolina

This runner was my official return to Accuquilt Dies. I had purchased it to make a quilt for baby quilt for my granddaughter 14 years ago! The quilt was never finished. Fast forward, the challenge was issued to try something new and I did….finishing a project with this die. Thanks to those who encouraged me along the way. I absolutely love the look and the combination of colors! I cannot wait to adorn my winter table with this piece.

Description: A mystery quilt offered free by Bonnie Hunter. Most of the pieces were able to be cut on my AccuQuilt Go Big, thank goodness!

I used Bills fabric for accents since this was a thank you gift for a friend who gave me a Featherweight! She is an avid Buffalo Bills football fan.
